I purchased a HRV system for my whole family, especially for my children. I don't think you can compromise with the health of children. Since my system was installed the children have no longer suffered with chesty infections, and our general health has improved. Having heard the presentation and seeing the recommendation from the Asthma society, I knew that this was a sensible item to purchase.

We got our HRV installed at the end of last winter and noticed the difference within days - condensation GONE; mould on the walls DEAD and a warmer house. It is still fun to run up to the controls to see what the temperature is in the ceiling. What a wonderful product, even the heat generated by the wood burner is kept within the house. GO HRV.

I guess one of the main reasons we got HRV was because our at the time 3-year-old boy kept having croup cough and we were worried he'd one day end up with asthma. We had already put in a Logaire wood burner to help dry out the home, but since having the HRV system we've noticed a huge difference. We had HRV installed in our home in Glenfield which was cold and damp and was making our then 18-month-old daughter sick. We were extremely happy with the immediate improvement in her health. 3 years later when we sold our house we knew that we would have to factor in the cost of installing HRV into our new home. We were fortunate when we found a new house that it had HRV so still no asthma here.
