How does ventilation create a healthier home?

Fresh, filtered air is brought in, stale air is removed. The HRV home ventilation system installed in your roof space changes the air in your home to get rid of excess moisture, toxins and odours created by cooking, cleaning, breathing, and other things. Incoming air is filtered to help remove dusts, pollens and other contaminants, preventing mould and mildew for a fresher, healthier home.

 

What’s involved in installing an HRV ventilation system?

Your HRV ventilation system is installed by a local team of friendly, professionally-trained electricians. A new power point is installed to connect it and a certificate of compliance is issued for electrical work. They will find a time that’s convenient with you for installation. Then your installer will also talk you through how to get the perfect home invironment using your new HRV Next Generation ventilation system or one of our innovative ventilation upgrades.

 

Does the HRV ventilation system come with a warranty?

At installation, your HRV ventilation system is warranted for 3 years against fault. But you can also upgrade to a SuperCare Warranty giving you 5 years cover. In normal use the system will require a service every 24-months. A filter change is carried out at the same time. Genuine HRV parts are required as part of the ongoing warranty, and to ensure you continue to get the best performance from your system.

 

What payment options are available?

We take all the usual payment options – cash, cheque, direct credit or credit card. We also have easy payment options available through Q Card. At times we have special payment option plans available too - take a look

 

How much does an HRV ventilation system cost?

Each home is different – in size, environment, inhabitants etc. Which is why we come to you to take moisture and temperature readings, which we then use to determine the best solution for your home. Our HRV ventilation specialist will take you through a full presentation of how everything works, provide a price and if you'd like to go ahead, the installation is planned for whenever suits you.

 

I've just moved into a home with an HRV ventilation system, what do I do?

Lucky you! HRV home ventilation systems are designed to make your invironment healthier. Outside air is drawn through the roof space, filtered and distributed through your home free from pollutants, creating a fresh invironment. Our system helps to alleviate hidden damp, condensation, dust, toxins or harmful pollens. There are only a few times you may need to adjust your HRV ventilation system – it’s a smart, fully automatic system.

I've had my HRV ventilation system for a while – why do I have a black ring around my outlet vent?

In some homes, the air passing out of the outlets across the ceiling will cause a static charge to build up. This can cause a build up of household dust from inside the room attracted by the static charge. Simply wipe away the dust ring with a dry cloth, then turn the diffuser plate of the vent open a little further to help stop this from recurring. How do I use Burnt Toast Mode?

 

My 'Replace Filter' light is flashing – what does this mean?

This light indicates your system requires a service and filter change. It is important that filters are changed with a genuine HRV SETA nano-filter every two years to ensure the performance of your HRV ventilation system isn't reduced, and you continue to get all the benefits your HRV ventilation system provides.

What do the ventilation levels on my control pad mean?

At different times of the year more or less air is needed to clear condensation in your home. Higher levels of condensation mean bringing more cold air into a house. The balance between condensation clearing and reducing the amount of cold air coming in is dependent on each home.

You can adjust it to suit:

  • Spring, Summer and Autumn: Lower ventilation levels (1 - 3)
  • Winter: Higher ventilation levels (3 - 6).

My HRV ventilation system is working great, but I still get condensation occasionally on some windows – why is this?

Even though your home is now dry, cold or damp weather conditions may still lead to some misty windows – though certainly far less than without your HRV ventilation system. No system can guarantee zero condensation, but believe us when we say your HRV ventilation system is getting you as close as possible.

What is Energy Saver mode?

Energy Saver turns off Cooling mode in the winter, and turns off Heating mode in the summer.  The system automatically senses the change of seasons.


Water Filtration

Will the Water filtration system reduce the water pressure?

Not if you change filters regulary. Depending on how fast the sediment filter blocks up, after a year there may be some loss of water pressure. Simply call 0800 HRV 123 (0800 478 123) to organise a water filter change.

When do I need a cover for the water system?

Sunlight may discolour the plastic exterior, but will not effect the systems performance. A cover is recommended, especially for systems mounted North facing. Covers can be colour matched to your home’s exterior paint scheme.


How long does the filter last?


We reccommend changing the filter every 12 months. If the waters starts to taste funny and the water pressure decreases then it’s time to have the filter changed. Please call 0800 HRV 123 to arrange your filter change or click here to contact us.

How long is the warranty for a HRV Water Filtration system?


3 years from day of installation


Can you take the system with you when moving homes?

Yes but a certified plumber must do both the deinstall and reinstall into the new home – This is an excellent option for renters.

What type of house can get a HRV Water Filtration system?

Any house that has water, town, tank or bore systems. We will test the water pressure to make sure it’s not too strong. With bore water systems the water will need to be tested by a lab before a system can be installed.
