On summer evenings and during the nights when
your windows are closed against mossies, noise or for security, the
last thing you want is to be hot and stuffy. Enter the HRV
SummerKit, an ingenious addition to your HRV Ventilation system
that brings cool air in from the South side of your home via a
ducting to the eave.
Why do I need a SummerKit?
The standard HRV Ventilation system works on
a temperature differential between your desired in-home temperature
and the temperature in the roof space where the unit is located. So
on summer days, it can't cool you directly from the roof space. The
HRV SummerKit bypasses the roof space, using the cool air from the
shadiest side of your home. It means no noisy air conditioning
system with the big power bills. In fact, a SummerKit running costs
around the same as running a lightbulb (approximately $12 a month).
We think that's pretty cool.
