HRV Hawke's Bay
Hawke's Bay stretches from the Art Deco streets of central Napier, along the coast through Ahuriri and Bay View, and across the plains to Hastings, Havelock North and Flaxmere. Hot, dry summers and cold winter mornings make for a big temperature swing across the year, and older Hawke's Bay villas in particular can struggle to hold heat once autumn sets in.
In the character homes around central Napier and Hastings, single glazing and limited insulation let the cold in fast and let condensation build up just as quickly on winter mornings. In the newer homes spreading out around Havelock North and Flaxmere, tighter modern construction more often traps stale, humid air indoors during the region's hot summers.

Fixing winter condensation in a character villa, Napier
A character villa in central Napier came to us with condensation streaming down the windows most winter mornings and a cold, draughty feel throughout the house despite the owners running their heat pump most evenings. With single glazing and no underfloor insulation, the villa had very little way to manage moisture through Hawke's Bay's cold winter mornings.
Our team assessed the home and installed an HRV Classic ventilation system, drawing fresh, filtered air into the roof space and pushing the stale, moisture-laden air back out. Within a few weeks, the morning condensation had all but disappeared, giving the owners a noticeably drier, more comfortable home through the rest of winter.
