HRV Wellington
Wellington is famous for its wind, and that wind has a real effect on homes, particularly the older character villas and bungalows perched on exposed hillside suburbs like Hataitai and Brooklyn. Constant wind pressure drives cold draughts through gaps that wouldn't bother a home in a more sheltered part of the country, while coastal spots like Lyall Bay deal with salt-laden air on top of it.
Further out in the Hutt Valley, around Naenae, Petone and Stokes Valley, homes sit in a cooler valley climate with less wind but more still, damp air on frosty mornings.
